Founded in 2001, the CMU Research Corp. is dedicated to the development of national centers for the research and development of business insight and nanoscale sciences; the pursuit of industry-driven, applied research; the launch of entrepreneurial activity; revitalization of the university teaching and research activities; and the retaining of talent and wealth in the mid-Michigan area.
CMURC is a not-for-profit organization and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CMU.
Dendritic NanoTechnologies, Inc.
Based in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, at the Center for Applied Research and Technology at CMU, DNT is one of the most promising new businesses in the field of dendrimer nanotechnologies. Founded by Michigan native and internationally renowned research scientist, Donald Tomalia, Ph.D., DNT specializes in the research, development and manufacture of a range of dendrimer products.
DNT is one of seven companies selected to participate in the Institute for Soldier Nanotechnologies, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology-based consortium of private businesses and research institutions dedicated to the improvement of military gear and equipment that helps heal injured soldiers and keeps them safe from chemical and biological weapons.
Additionally, DNT is a partner organization in CMU's federally-designated National Center of Excellence in Dendrimer Nanotechnology.
